Baby Vervet Monkey
The vervet monkey or simply vervet, is an Old World monkey of the family Cercopithecidae native to Africa. The term “vervet” is also used to refer to all the members of the genus Chlorocebus. The five distinct subspecies can be found mostly throughout Southern Africa, as well as some of the eastern countries.

Red Kangoroos are the largest of all kangaroos, the largest mammal native to Australia, and the largest extant marsupial. Kangaroos are adept swimmers, and often flee into waterways if threatened by a predator. Large spotted genets are native to South Africa with their relatives the common genet commonly found all over Africa, Southern Europe and parts of the Middle East. Genets have no relation to a cat even though they have similar qualities. This small carnivore is very agile and playful at times. Genets are frightened very easily making Smokey, our genet, only available for older calmer children.
Chinchillas are crepuscular (most active around dawn and dusk) rodents, slightly larger and more robust than ground squirrels. They are native to the Andes mountains in South America and live in colonies called “herds” at high altitudes up to 4,270 metres (14,000 ft). The Fennec Fox is a small nocturnal fox found in the Sahara of North Africa. Its most distinctive feature is its unusually large ears, which also serve to dissipate heat. Its name comes from the Arabic word (fanak), which means fox, and the species name zerda comes from the Greek word xeros which means dry, referring to the fox’s habitat. The fennec is the smallest species of canid. Its coat, ears, and kidney functions have adapted to high-temperature, low-water, desert environments. In addition, its hearing is sensitive enough to hear prey moving underground. It mainly eats insects, small mammals, and birds.
Salt, our african pygmy hedgehog, is a nocturnal mammal but is always happy to wake up and great children at birthday parties, vacation bible schools, libraries, and school programs. Having around 5-6,000 quills over her body makes her look intimidating but she is very sweet at heart. Children of all ages love to touch her quills and watch her go crazy for a mealworm.
While feeding mostly on insects in the wild they are considered omnivores because they often will eat frogs, earthworms, and other small prey when given the opportunity.
Description of tenrec: A tenrec is any species of mammal within the family Tenrecidae, found on Madagascar and in parts of the African mainland.Tenrecs are widely diverse; as a result of convergent evolution they resemble hedgehogs, shrews, opossums, mice and even otters. They occupy aquatic, arboreal, terrestrial and fossorial environments. Some of these species, including the greater hedgehog tenrec, can be found in the Madagascar dry deciduous forests.
The crested porcupine (Hystrix cristata) is a species of rodent in the Hystricidae family. Brazilian short tailed oposum
The gray short-tailed opossum (Monodelphis domestica) is a small South American member of the Didelphidae family of opossums. It was the first marsupial to have its genome sequenced. The opossum is used as a research model in science, and is also frequently found in the exotic pet trade. It is also known as the Brazilian opossum, rainforest opossum and in a research setting the laboratory opossum.
French Lop Rabbits
The French Lop Rabbit was first bred in France around 1850 and established in France as a rabbit for meat during the mid-19th century. It is believed to have been produced by crossing two existing breeds, the English Lop and the Butterfly Rabbit of France. The Butterfly Rabbit is still bred in France and can be seen at the Grand Prix Show in Paris. This rabbit closely resembles our Flemish Giant of today, but is shorter in body length and weighs approximately 15 pounds.
Native to Australia, bearded dragons, are an exceptional reptile to have around and at functions. Their personalities are low keyed and they love every one of all ages. Plus the kids get to meet a real live “Dragon.”
The Tanimbar corella (Cacatua goffiniana) also known as Goffin’s cockatoo or Goffin’s corella, is a species of cockatoo endemic to forests of Yamdena, Larat and Selaru, all islands in the Tanimbar Islands archipelago in Indonesia. The species has been introduced at the Kai Islands, Indonesia, Puerto Rico and Singapore. Skunks are North and South American mammals in the family Mephitidae. Not related to polecats which are in the weasel family, the closest Old World relative to the skunk is the stink badger.
Three Banded Armadillo
The Brazilian three-banded armadillo is an armadillo species endemic to Brazil, where it is known as tatu-bola. It is one of only two species of armadillo that can roll into a ball. It has suffered a 30% decline in population in the last 10 years.
Tamandua is a genus of anteaters with two species: the southern tamandua and the northern tamandua.
We are a budding business constantly changing as we grow. There are many new and exciting animals that are not listed above. We do take in some recues and misplaced animals. All of our ambasssadors were either from homes that could no longer care for them or raised by us from babies.
There is no guarantee all the animals can make it. Our ambasssadors have bad days just like you and I. In the event that happens they will have a substitute fill in for them.

We are committed to teaching children and adults about wildlife. Animal programs have always been a big hit. Of course it’s not just about the fun of seeing exotic animals up close. In our animal programs we want the kids to learn about them in the process and to be inspired to do great things as adults to help preserve our home, Earth. This Earth deserves a voice and by teaching about its wonders maybe that voice will be the children we taught today.
